In September, when the tourist crowd has calmed down a bit, we went with a group from the United Kingdom to the Gorenjska region and enjoyed the beauty that it has to offer.
On the first day we met in front of the hotel in Kranjska Gora. We took a bus from Kranjska Gora to Planica Nordic center from where we set off on our first hike through the Tamar valley all the way to the Črne vode waterfall. The route then led us back to Dom v Tamarju, where we had lunch and then continued our journey back to the Nordic center where we sat for a while under the Gorišek brothers' ski jump and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere below Ponce. We continued walking to village called Rateče and along the bike path back to Kranjska Gora.

The next day we took the bus to Lake Bohinj. We bought tickets for the electric boat in Ribčev Laz and went on a wonderful cruise on Lake Bohinj all the way to Ukanc, where we had a coffee and then started back on foot along the northern side of the lake. At the end of the hike we also took a good hour to swim in the lake and lie in the sun.

On the third day we took advantage of the good weather and took a bus to the Vršič pass, from where the route led us along the picturesque path to Slemenova špica. At the top we enjoyed the views and learned about our King (Jalovec) and Queen (Škrlatica). A little below the summit, on the soft grass, we had lunch and then went back along the same route to the Vršič pass.

The weather forecast for the fourth day was not the most encouraging but we still gathered at the hotel in Kranjska Gora and went to Gozd Martuljek along part of the Alpe-Adria Trail. When we crossed the road and reached the open-air coal museum it started to rain, but since we were ready for that, we continued towards the first Martuljek waterfall. We advanced more slowly and carefully because the path was slippery due to the rain. After a short visit to the waterfall we went down the forest path and returned to Kranjski Gora on the bike path.

On the fifth day we were met with heavy rain at the beginning but since the team was from the United Kingdom, they said they were used to it, so we went on the hike anyway. We took the bus to the parking lot under the Peričnik waterfall. We abandoned our original intention to climb to the waterfall itself because the path was too wet, so we looked at the waterfall from below from the bridge and then started along the Triglavska Bistrica path to Mojstrana. Despite the rain, we all enjoyed the walk and the murmur of Bistrica. We all got to Mojstrana soaked, where we sadly said goodbye, because this was also our last joint tour on the program.

We experienced many beautiful things and got to know each other quite well along the way, so saying goodbye was a bit emotional. Thank you for your visit and your trust, and I hope that you will come back sometime so that we can meet again and visit some more hidden places of Slovenia together.
